"A bookstore is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking." Jerry Seinfeld Watch our video

Old bookstore. New beginning. It’s no secret that things are tough in the bookselling business these days. Recent years have seen the liquidation of Borders, financial trouble for Barnes & Noble, and the closing of over 75% of independent bookstores in the US. The way that people buy and read books is changing, and the way that bookstores run their business must change, too.
The award-winning Kepler's Books of Menlo Park, in concert with a team of committed community champions, is working to create a model for a bookstore that has never been seen before. Our vision combines a nonprofit organization dedicated to a deep roster of author events, lectures, and literary gatherings with a community-owned bookstore that preserves the physical space where people browse, discover, and enjoy books. We’re passionate about this future and hope you will help us get there. Do you continue to value a space to meet, talk about ideas, hold a book in your hands, and listen to great writers present their work?
